Arkessa

Arkessa are a Virtual Mobile Network Operator (MVNO) specialising in connectivity for devices on the M2M Internet using GPRS and 3G mobile networks. Ignoto have collaborated on various projects with Arkessa including:

  • An e-commerce solution where Arkessa's customers can purchase SIMs and contracts for their remote devices.
  • A data collection and analysis framework (the Mosaic Platform) for remote devices to send their data to a central server where it can be visualised on a web page or extracted for other purposes such as data mining. The framework also allows for real time control of remote devices from a web page, for example, to control a building management system to turn air-conditioning up or down.
  • A web-services integration to allow Arkessa's customers who have SIMs on other Networks (e.g. Vodafone) to control and manage their "estate" of devices from one place.

Feabhas

The world leaders in embedded systems training, for whom we developed a system by which programmers could have their competence certified. This certification was achieved by allowing them to submit answers to examinations in actual program code. The code was then built, statically checked, run and tested and the students were assigned a score.

The system was distributed and secure, encrypting all messages and running the code on virtual machines where any attempts to compromise the host could be restricted.

IOTAS

A GSM/3G/LTE testing company, IOTAS wanted their (and their customers') test engineers to be able to be trained in the basics of the mobile technologies. The training had the objective of improving test performance turn-around by reducing the number of expensive re-tests owing to simple faults, such as failure to camp on the network.

Ignoto set up an eLearning solution for IOTAS and assisted in populating the Training content. We also created an Intranet solution for IOTAS so that their engineers could store and share knowledge of test cases, technologies, equipment, etc over their global VPN.
